NCW — It’s not even spring, yet they’re sprouting up everywhere in North Central Washington.

Hundreds of miles of roads in East Wenatchee, and Chelan and Okanogan counties are now open to all-terrain vehicles. As long as they’re modified with safety features, inspected and licensed, these vehicles designed for off-road use are now legal on dozens of paved and unpaved roads, from the Chumstick Highway north of Leavenworth to Chopaka Road outside of Loomis in northern Okanogan County.
