Ernest Emil “Ernie” Schorzman

July 5, 1920 ~ February 2, 2014

Dad passed away February 2, 2014, from complications of a fall taken in December. He was born to William and Rebecka Schorzman on July 5, 1920. Mom always called dad “the late firecracker.” He lived his whole life in Washington State, born in Quincy, WA, leaving only to work at Boeing in Seattle, then serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Dad met our mom, Lillian, while working at Boeing. She had come from North Dakota, with her brothers, to work there as well. They were married in Seattle, then following the War, returned to Quincy, where Dad returned to farming with his brothers. Mom and Dad were married 60 years. Dad farmed in Quincy until age 65, and then we all went to Hawaii to celebrate his retirement. After he retired, Mom and Dad were able to do a lot of traveling, finally returning for several years to Lake Havasu, AZ. Mom passed away July 24, 2003, and although Dad kept an “I’m just so busy” schedule, he really missed Mom. So now they are together.

Dad is survived by his daughter, Linda Johnston; and his son, Roger Schorzman.

My brother and I would like to thank the staff at the Country Inn for their exceptional care and concern for our father over the last 11 years. They have been wonderful. We would also like to thank the staff of Central Washington Hospital, Colonial Vista Rehabilitation, and Bonaventure Assisted Living for their care. We would also like to take this time to thank Mom and Dad’s many friends for their support over the years.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Eastmont Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the church. Telford’s Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
