Blanche Viola Wagg

Brewster, WA

Blanche Viola Wagg, 98, of Brewster, WA, passed away February 3, 2014, at the Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster. Blanche was born December 4, 1915, in Methow, WA, to parents, R.L. and Pearl Cook and was one of four children. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Pateros, WA, where she attended school and eventually met the love of her life, S. Kyle Wagg, a young man from Virginia. Blanche and Kyle were married in Wenatchee, WA on January 12, 1931. They had 69 wonderful years together, before Kyle’s passing in 2000. They raised their family of three sons, Larry, Lonnie and Lynn, in the Methow, Pateros and Brewster area, making this her home for all of her 98 years. Blanche worked different jobs throughout her life. She worked seasonally in the local warehouses, where she packed apples, but her most fulfilling job was working at the hospital in Brewster as a nurses aide and ward clerk. She was a very caring person and took great pride in taking care of the patients and giving 100% in whatever she did. Blanche loved to camp; she and Kyle spent as much time as possible camping with friends and family or spending time at their cabin on McFarland creek. She loved her many outings, potlucks, and get-togethers with her church family. She also loved to garden, and she raised beautiful vegetables, fruits and flowers, which she so generously shared with neighbors and friends. Above all, Blanche loved the Lord; her ongoing trust in God, her positive attitude and contentment, and her encouraging words were huge factors in the admirable woman that she was. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by so many people. We were so fortunate to have had her in our lives; she sat a high standard for all of us to live up to.

Blanche is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Marlene Wagg of Brewster; grandchildren, Rick and Vince Wagg of Anchorage, AK, Doug Wagg of Bremerton, WA, Melony Wagg of Anchorage, AK, and Leah Davis of Spokane, WA; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kyle; two sons, Larry and Lonnie; two sisters, Olive and Martha; and one brother, Jess .

Blanche was a member of the Brewster Adventist Church, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Blanche had requested donations be made to the Brewster Senior Center. Arrangements by Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel, Okanogan, WA.
