Great anticipations: Excitement and anxiety was high when Wenatchee school bond supporters gathered at North Cascade National Bank last Tuesday to wait for the results of the bond election. Before the returns came in, John McQuaig, head of the school facilities and bond election committees, said he was pretty confident voters would pass the $66.5 million, 20-year bond to construct, remodel or improve five schools in the district. But ya never know, he wavered.
“We’ve worked really hard on this one,” said Wenatchee schools Superintendent Brian Flones, also trying to be optimistic. “I don’t think we’ve ever put together a campaign like this before.”
