Vance F. Lake

Lifelong Wenatchee resident, Vance F. Lake, died February 9, 2014, in Arizona, at the age of 98. Grandson of pioneer U. F. Lake and son of B. L. Lake, he was born in Wenatchee on August 1, 1915, and except during military service in WWII, some schooling and some employment, made his home in Wenatchee. He was an 85 year member of Kings Orchard Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters; and his wife, Martha, in 2005; they were married for 68 years. He is survived by his sister, Lois Lake of Lyle, WA; son, Bert (Bev) of Benton City, WA; daughter, Bernice Caldwell (Jim) of Wenatchee; grandchildren, Jeff Lake, Penny Poer, Laurie Heggem, Kevin Standerfer, Kim Lammers, Jim Caldwell Jr. and Jeff Caldwell; and ten great-grandchildren.

The Interment will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Wenatchee City Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at King’s Orchard Church of Christ, 1610 Orchard Avenue, Wenatchee. Mr. Dale Linge will be officiating. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
