SPOKANE VALLEY — Sometimes, a team is required to play its best even when it's not feeling its best.

The Chelan boys basketball team had a ready-made excuse if it lost its 1A District 5/6 loser-out contest Friday to rival Cashmere at West Valley High School; several of the Goats' players have been fighting sickness during the past week, most notably all-Caribou Trail League post Hank Hollingsworth, who didn't practice Wednesday and Thursday and didn't start on Friday.
