Ellie Moss

July 18, 1923 ~ February 13, 2014

Ellie Moss, of Rock Island, WA, passed away February 13, 2014. She was born July 18, 1923, in Youngstown, Alberta, Canada. Her parents were Edward and Ettie (Young) Bignell. Ellie came to the U.S. to visit her sister and met and married Norman Moss. They came to Rock Island in 1954, where they raised their own two children and took in many foster children. After Norman passed away in 1974, Ellie began working at Stan’s Merry Mart. She enjoyed her work there and worked until she retired at age 82. Ellie’s passions were her family, all children, helping others, and writing poetry. Her family and friends will miss her comforting presence.

Her survivors include her son, David Moss; her daughter, Ettie Goldy (Dave); grandson, Jon Goldy (Heather); granddaughter, Jamie Samuelson (Kris); grandson, Jeff Goldy (Abby); grandson, Joel Goldy (Katie); great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Brynleigh, Annaliese, Jacob, Harper, Jace, Ellie, Brayden, Mia, and Kya; brother, Eddie Bignell (Effie); and sister, Annette Williams.

Graveside Services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Arrangements by Greenwood Funeral Home, Renton, WA.
