Next step for ballot bill that would avoid repeat of costly elections

OLYMPIA — A bill to eliminate unnecessary ballots is moving ahead in the senate.

HB 2106 would not require primary elections to be held in counties when only one candidate and position would be on the ballot. It was heard in the senate this week after passing out of the house with 86 votes in favor and 10 against.
