Laura Lee Mead

February 21, 1953 ~ February 10, 2014

Laura Lee Mead, 60, of East Wenatchee, WA, died Monday, February 10, 2014. Laura was born and spent her childhood years in San Diego, CA. As a teenager, she moved with her parents to Fairbanks, AK, where she studied journalism at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After college, she moved to Anchorage, AK, and later retired from the First National Bank Alaska. After a few years of traveling, she settled in East Wenatchee eight years ago. While living in East Wenatchee, Laura volunteered and later worked at the Performing Arts Center; a job that she truly loved. Laura was an avid reader and frequent patron of the East Wenatchee Public Library. She also loved to crochet and tend to her beautiful English garden.

Laura L. Mead is survived by her mother, Shirley Mead of East Wenatchee; sister, Christine Wright of Alaska and Nevada; grandsons, Kenneth Webber of Anchorage, AK, and Jonathan Webber of Alaska and Washington; and great-grandsons, Kenneth Paul Webber Jr., Kyle Webber and Kevin Webber, all of Anchorage, AK. Her father, Paul Mead of East Wenatchee, preceded her in death.

No Funeral Services will be held. A Family Gathering will be held at a later date. Laura is buried at Evergreen Memorial Park, East Wenatchee, WA.
