Christopher Wilson

August 10, 1950 ~ February 19, 2014

Chris Wilson, 63, of Leesburg, GA, died at home the evening of February 19, 2014, following a sudden illness. Chris was one of four children born to John D. “Jack” and Imogene “Susie” Wilson on August 10, 1950. Chris attended Cashmere schools, graduating in 1968. Following the sudden and untimely death of his mother and brother in 1962, Chris’ family joined with the Morrison family and they made their home on Valley View Drive. At Cashmere High, Chris participated in basketball and tennis. Chris followed in his father’s footsteps and attended Washington State University, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. Chris also played college tennis as a WSU Cougar. After graduation, he worked for various engineering firms in the Northwest, including Bechtel and Westinghouse. Chris later earned additional master’s degrees in engineering from Washington State University and the University of Washington, and was hired as a civilian employee for the Navy, working on various projects at Bremerton Naval Shipyard. Always looking for new challenges, Chris most recently continued his work for the military in Georgia at the Marine Depot Maintenance Command. Always a very curious individual, Chris had a variety of interests during the course of his life, including tennis, hiking, skiing, and target shooting.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Mark Richard Wilson; stepmother, Marilyn Wilson; and stepbrother, Robert “Bob” Morrison. He is survived by his sister, Sarah of Republic, WA; and his brother, Tom of Las Vegas, NV. He will be missed and remembered by stepbrothers, Brent (wife, Kathie) of Chelan, Jon (wife, Patti) of Monitor, Mike (wife, Denise) of West Linn, OR, and Jeff (wife, Kim) of Wenatchee.

Memorials may be made in Chris’ name to Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
