The year 1931 my father was asked to comment on the Apple Blossom Festival before the Lions Club. He talked of the early days of the 20th Century, when this town had no service clubs.
But it had a group of people dedicated to the spirit of cooperation, including John A. Gellatly, A. Z. Wells, N. I Neubauer, Ira Edwards, W. T. Clark, W.R. Prowell, Ira Edwards, and George Fisher.
