Daria Lynn (Floyd) Johnson

July 3, 1948 ~ December 24, 2013

Daria Lynn Johnson, 65, of Lyle, WA, passed away in her home surrounded by family on December 24, 2013. She fought a tough, long battle with cancer. Her strong will to live, faith in God and the love and prayers of family and friends, carried her through the months of chemotherapy and radiation. She showed tremendous amounts of love, courage, strength and will power throughout her battle. Daria was born July 3, 1948, to Junior and Mozell Floyd in Batesville, AR. She moved with her family to Moxee, WA, where she attended grade school. She then moved to Rock Island, WA and graduated in 1966, from Eastmont High School. She married in 1966 and gave birth in 1970, to her daughter, Ranee McDonald, in Minot, ND. With many changes in her life, she moved back to Wenatchee, WA and while working for Goodfellow Bros., she met Steve Johnson. They married on March 5, 1983, at Lake Wenatchee. They moved to Lyle, WA and made their home. She worked for M-K Drilling as office manager for over 20 years. Daria had a huge heart for her family and loved spending time with friends. She had an awesome sense of humor. She always showed support and love, being more concerned about others than she was for herself. She was proud of her family and loved watching them grow. She thrived on spoiling her grandchildren and cherished being a big part in Brian and Cassandra’s life. She enjoyed watching the Seahawks, gardening, sightseeing and the beach. She had a soft spot for animals. She is now in God’s hands, resting in heaven.

Daria is survived by her husband, Steven L. Johnson, of Lyle, WA; children, Ranee (Scott) Riffe of Centralia, WA, Christy (Dave) Monnot of East Wenatchee, WA, Joni (Jamie) Trowbridge of Rock Island, WA, Kolaiah (Sandy) Baker of Eagle River, AK; siblings, Richard (Maria) Floyd of Colorado Springs, CO, Elizabeth (Bob) Johnson of East Wenatchee, WA and Martha (Sigmund) Floyd of East Wenatchee, WA; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Daria was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest brother, John Floyd.

Celebration of Life will be held January 4, 2014, at the Lyle Celebration Center in Lyle, WA at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service will be held January 6, 2014, at Wenatchee Cemetery in Wenatchee, WA at 11:00 a.m.
