Dawn Marie Tyler (Christensen), 51, of Marysville, WA, passed quietly away in her sleep on December 29, 2013. Dawn was born on March 2, 1962, in Chelan, WA to parents, David and Karen Christensen. Dawn is remembered by her family and friends as a loving, giving and passionate woman. She had a fondness for red roses and an impeccable memory. Dawn loved the sun and planned to retire to the beaches of Florida.

Dawn grew up in Chelan, graduating from Chelan High School in 1980. She received her cosmetology license from Cinderella’s Beauty School in Bremerton in 1981. After living in Wenatchee for several years, Dawn moved to Marysville with her former husband, Dave Lane in 1986. For many years, Dawn owned her own hair salon in Marysville — ‘New Dawning’. In 1995, Dawn married Richard Tyler. In recent years, Dawn ran a successful business as an independent Freight Broker for Landstar Trucking.

Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Tyler; father, David Christensen; grandparents, Nels and Rose Christensen; and grandparents, Theodore and Faye Butts. Dawn is survived by daughters, Brooke Lane (23) and Selena Tyler (16); mother and stepfather, Karen and Don Morgan; brother, Daren Christensen; sister, Kim Brown and nieces, Lexi and Taylor; foster sister, Lesah Harris; fiance;, Eric Harder; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Dawn’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Everett Yacht Club, 404 14th Street, Everett, WA 98201. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in support of Dawn’s daughters - the Dawn Marie Tyler Christensen Memorial Fund has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank in Marysville; and/or you can make a memorial donation to Pathways for Women, 6027 208th Street SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
