Barbara Irene Woodworth

September 5, 1926 ~ January 3, 2014

Passing into the loving arms of her Lord, Barbara Irene Woodworth passed away at Central Washington Hospital on Friday, January 3, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Woodworth had been ill for several months. Barbara was born September 5, 1926, in Spokane, WA. She was the fourth and youngest child of Ernest Augustus Ludwig Frank and Louise Katherine Schrader. She was the widow of the late James Robert Woodworth, who passed away last winter. They were married June 12, 1948 in Spokane, WA. Barbara attended the University of Washington in 1944, before transferring to the Eastern Washington School of Education in Cheney, WA. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1947. Barbara taught third grade as an elementary school teacher for 28 years, retiring in 1975. She taught at schools in Spokane, Wilson Creek, and Quincy. After her retirement, she and Bob enjoyed traveling until about 2004, when health problems kept the couple at home.

Barbara is survived by her three sons, Don (Benchawan) of East Wenatchee, Bruce (Leanne) of Colton, OR, and Mark (Laurel) of Spokane; and two granddaughters, Heather Louise Woodworth and Cattleya Irene Woodworth. She also had two great-grandchildren.

Barbara was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 716 3rd Avenue SE, Quincy, WA. A reception will follow the Service. Please leave a memory for the family or sign their online guestbook at www.scharbachs.com. Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy, is assisting the family with arrangements.
