Linda Emry Schuster

May 18, 1941 ~ December 18, 2013

Linda was born in Omaha, NE on May 18, 1941. Her family moved to Walla Walla in 1947. She attended school at St. Patrick Catholic School and graduated in 1959. She then attended Eastern Washington University, where she met her first husband, Kenneth E. Emry. They were married on February 16, 1963. They raised their four children in Wenatchee. She lost her first husband in 1981, due to illness. In 1989, she went back to Walla Walla for a high school reunion and reconnected with James E. Schuster. They were married on June 23, 1990, joining two families together with eight children, Sheila Schuster Proefrock (Dean) of College Place, WA, April Emry Lane (Dennis) of East Wenatchee, WA, Lisa Schuster Shelley of Dixie, WA, AJ Schuster (Darla) of Walla Walla, WA, Mark Emry (Diana) of Peshastin, WA, Christina Emry Sparks of Sasebo, Japan, Melissa Emry of College Place, WA and Matthew Schuster (Susan) of Walla Walla, WA. The family continued to grow with 12 grandchildren, Brandy Proefrock Pettit (John), Josh Shelley, Nathan Shelley, Jennifer Proefrock, Hayden Lane, Katherine Sparks, Kenneth A. Emry, Kylie Schuster, Olivia Lane, Kendra Emry, Mattison Lane and Haley Emry.

She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Trout (Cliff) and Juliann Moeller (Richard); one brother, William Pancake (Janie); brother-in-law, Jerry Schuster; sister-in-law, Lona Schuster; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Julia Pancake; first husband, Kenneth E. Emry; niece, Terri Moeller; mother-in-law, Catherine Schuster; brother-in-law, Frank Schuster; sister-in-law, Jackie Pancake; and nephew, William D. Pancake.

Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who put family first above all else. She loved to travel and get together with family and friends for card playing and celebrations. She will be remembered for her positive outlook, wonderful smile, contagious laughter and “Bull Roar”.
