Earnestine “Tina” Sims

November 25, 1924 ~ January 6, 2014

Earnestine “Tina” Sims, 89, of East Wenatchee, WA, a 58 year Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014, at Life’s Little Pleasures in East Wenatchee. She was born on November 25, 1924, at Sage, AR to the late Adolfus and Mary (Black) Wren. She was raised and attended elementary, middle and high school in Sage, AR. She met Delbert Sims as a young girl growing up and she was later united in marriage to the love of her life on December 22, 1941, at Melbourne, AR. They made their first home together in Melbourne, prior to moving to Fort Knox, KY while Delbert was stationed there in the Army. Following his honorable discharge, they remained in Kentucky, until moving to Wenatchee in 1950. She went to work in the local fruit industry and accepted a job at C & O Nursery. She later went to work at Dolco Packaging, before becoming a Retail Sales Clerk at K-Mart and Stan’s Merry Mart. Tina and Delbert also owned and operated a cherry orchard off of Rock Island Road for 14 years. In 1986, they moved to make their home in East Wenatchee. She attended King’s Orchard Church of Christ in Wenatchee. She enjoyed travelling, gardening, landscaping and yard work with Delbert, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Sims of East Wenatchee; two grandchildren, Shad Harlan and Whitney Rehberg, both of East Wenatchee; and two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Harlan and Logan Harlan, both of East Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert F. Sims, on January 17, 2013; their infant daughter, Frankie Willadeen Sims; two brothers, James “Lois” Wren and Homer Wren; sister, Tracy Lee Shaver; four brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

A Commemoration Service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Chapel, 19 Rock Island Road, East Wenatchee, with Dale Linge, Minister, officiating. Concluding Services and the Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 10, 2014, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. You are invited to visit her tribute online at Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
