Lucille Pennington

December 23, 1923 ~ January 1 , 2014

Lucille Pennington, 90, passed away January 1, 2014. She was born Lucille Baswell on December 23, 1923, in Lamar County, AL. Her family moved to Columbus, MS in 1930. She met Marvin “Penny” Pennington in 1941, and they were married in 1943. They moved to the Wenatchee Valley in 1948. Lucille did different jobs, including Dusty’s Drive-In, Safeway, and housekeeping. Her favorite pastimes were fishing and going camping with Appleland Good Sams. She loved gardening, always having the prettiest flowers on the block. She also loved to sew, often making things to give to her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; two sisters; and her husband of 68 years. She is survived by one son, Bob (Paula) Pennington of Coulee City, WA; one daughter, Joyce Maxson (Roger) of Vancouver, WA; one brother, Murdell Baswell of Grenada, MS; one sister, Hazel Baker of Columbus, MS; granddaughter, Tammy and great-grandson, Jacob; grandson, Rob and great-grandson, Ryan; grandson, Neil; granddaughters: Jo and three sons, Sandy and two daughters, and Susie and two daughters; and several nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no service. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in her name. Arrangements by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
