WENATCHEE — Weather predictions by regional forecasters changed from “unseasonable” to “holy cow” as temperatures soared here Saturday to a daily record of 53 degrees amid a tumultuous mix of conditions across the region.

“Holy cow, it’s really warmed up,” said National Weather Service forecaster Ellie Kelch in Spokane. The balmy weather blew in on Chinook-like southerly winds that gusted through Saturday evening to 35 mph. “We’re seeing a lot of different conditions out there,” she said.
