CASHMERE — One of the Cashmere girls basketball team’s mottos this season is: “Celebrate rarely, grind regularly.”

The Bulldogs couldn’t be faulted for celebrating — at least a little bit — after their Tuesday showdown against defending state champion and fellow unbeaten Brewster at Ron Doane Gymnasium. The Bulldogs took a big third-quarter lead, then withstood a furious fourth-quarter rally from Brewster to hold on for a 65-62 win that gives them control — at least for the time being — of a loaded Caribou Trail League.
