WENATCHEE — Since the Wenatchee Valley College men’s basketball team started its Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges East Region slate with two consecutive losses, the absolute last thing the Knights can afford to do from here on out is lose winnable games, especially at home.

That’s why WVC coach Coby Weidenbach said there were some “hanging heads” in the Knights’ locker room following their 77-67 loss to Columbia Basin at Smith Gymnasium on Wednesday. The East Region is too talented and too deep this season to allow for things like that to happen to a Knights squad that is desperately trying to snap a long postseason drought by finishing in the top four in the East.
