CTL schools appeal SCAC’s decision to not expand

The South Central Athletic Conference doesn’t want to bring Cascade, Chelan and Cashmere into its fold. But the three schools, currently members of a soon-to-be-dissolved Caribou Trail League, aren’t giving up hope of joining the conference — they think they’d be a great fit in the SCAC. They now have to hope that the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association agrees with them.

The three schools sent a letter of appeal to WIAA director Mike Colbrese on Friday, according to Cascade athletic director Elia Ala’ilima-Daley. With the appeal, the three CTL schools are hoping that the WIAA will initiate a mediation process and find a way to get the three schools into the SCAC in a manner that will be acceptable for all parties involved.
