WENATCHEE — A layer of high pressure over North Central Washington will likely continue through the week to trap stagnant air and ward off any fresh storms that could flush atmospheric crud from the region’s valleys.

“Right now, there’s nothing in the forecast that would kick out that ridge of high pressure,” said Jeffrey Cote, a forecaster for the National Weather Service in Spokane. “The storm we need to scour away the inversion just isn’t there right now.”
