WENATCHEE — After picking up its first Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges East Region win Friday, the Wenatchee Valley College men’s basketball team knew it couldn’t afford to split its weekend twinbill by falling to Blue Mountain, winless in the East, on Saturday.

Even though the Knights began their East slate by dropping their first four games before Friday, they felt reasonably confident about their chances of staying in the race for one of the region’s four playoff spots because it appears as though the East will be ruled by parity this season.
