The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has agreed to mediate talks between the South Central Athletic Conference and three schools that are wanting to join the conference this fall.

Last week, SCAC athletic directors and principals rejected a proposal from Cascade, Chelan and Cashmere to let the three current Caribou Trail League schools into the SCAC. Cascade athletic director Elia Ala’ilima-Daley, Cashmere athletic director Scott Brown, Chelan athletic director Rob Rainville, Cashmere superintendent Glenn Johnson and Cashmere High School principal Tony Boyle attended the WIAA’s executive board meeting Sunday in Renton to request mediation.
