Thirteen cross country skiers from The Leavenworth Winter Sports Club escaped the fog of the Wenatchee Valley last weekend and competed in the sun at the Sunnyside Pursuit at Mount Bachelor in Oregon.

Five age classes were represented from the LWSC. In the boys U12 3-kilometer races, Jerome Jerome placed fifth in Saturday’s skate race and fourth in Sunday’s classic race. For the U14 girls, Hadassah Lurbur placed second both days, while for the U14 boys, Lucas Jobe finished 11th and ninth.
