Tortoise trip: Pesto is home from his grand adventure. The 7-year-old Greek tortoise crawled away from home in the foothills west of Wenatchee earlier this month when someone left a gate open. His owner, Diana Carty, said she often puts him out in the yard on warm summer days and brings him in at night.

She and her neighbors searched the neighborhood for several days with no luck. Carty said she prayed for Pesto’s return.
