River flows hit seasonal peak

WENATCHEE VALLEY — Mountain runoff into the Columbia River hit its peak in late May, but Wenatchee-area boat launches on the Columbia River are expected to remain open as flows diminish throughout the summer.

As river levels drop, danger for boaters exists around the Entiat bar, a popular summertime hangout, where people lounge and play in the deceptively shallow water.

The Chelan County PUD, which operates the reservoirs behind Rock Island and Rocky Reach dams advise boaters to be careful…
