Velocity takes 3rd in stormy Missoula

When there is rain, wind and thunderstorms looming about, the last thing you may think of is to go swimming. But 40 Velocity Swimmers at the Firecracker Invitational in Missoula, Mont., last weekend (June 26-30) did exactly that. Despite the unreasonable conditions, the team managed many best times and set multiple new team records while finishing third behind host Missoula Aquatic Club and Bozeman. Thirty-five teams participated in the annual event.

The team was fueled by multiple first-place finishes from, Leif Broxson (10U boys), Hannah Bruggman (15-and-over girls), Brooklyn Dressel (10U Girls), Connor Elwyn (11-12 boys), Ben Madson (8U Boys) and Tage Madson (11-12 boys). They weren’t the only swimmers to score points for Velocity, however.
