WENATCHEE — While fisherman have plenty to celebrate as record numbers of fish head our way, even those without a pole can get in on the fun.

For anyone who wants to see them, many will be visible through the Rocky Reach Dam visitor center viewing windows that look out on the fish ladder. Within the next week, the dam will see a surge in salmon, said Debbie Patterson, a Chelan County PUD employee who has been counting fish for nearly 30 years. Up to 300,000 adult sockeye and 60,000 adult chinook could make their way through the dam this summer.
