Governor Inslee sets new standards for state water quality

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announced plans Wednesday to raise fish consumption standards to a small serving per day: 175 grams or about 6 ounces.

Don’t like fish? Don’t worry, it’s not a diet requirement. It’s about health: State officials use the fish consumption rate to set water-quality regulations that are strict enough to protect the health of people who eat local fish from negative impacts of pollution.
