Kathleen Louise (Richburg) Stewart

March 15, 1922 ~ July 6, 2014

Kathleen Louise Stewart of Cashmere, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014. She was born on March 15, 1922 to Dozier and Mary Louise (Davis) Richburg in Cashmere. She received her early education in Dryden and Cashmere, where she graduated in 1940. Kathleen married Thomas J. Stewart on February 16, 1941, in Yakima. Thomas and Kathleen had six children. They lived in various places around the United States including Alaska, California, Texas and Washington. The couple moved back to Cashmere in 1994. Tom passed away in August 1996. Kathleen later married Buck Campbell and they made their home in Cashmere. Kathleen was a homemaker and her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, canning and baking. Kids, including their school friends, always came home to homemade goodies, such as cinnamon rolls. Mom would stay up all night sewing to have special garment to wear to school the next day. She was a member of Cashmere Baptist Church and DFS (Depression Flour Sack) Club, where she would embroider flour sacks into usable things, such as tablecloths.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Stewart; husband, Buck Campbell; her parents, Dozier and Mary Louise Richburg; her son, Dean Stewart; her brothers, Lee, Ned and Tom Richburg; infant twin brother and sister, Phillip and Phyllis Richburg. She is survived by her children, Thomas D. (Rava) Stewart of Cashmere, David (Carrie) Stewart of Trout Creek, MT, Dale (Shirley) Stewart of Jacksonville, TX, Dan (Marjorie) Stewart of Cashmere, Louise (Gary) Rifenbery of Ephrata; her daughter-in-law, Sheron Stewart of Jacksonville, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Jones & Jones ~ Betts Memorial Chapel with Interment following at Cashmere City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014, at the funeral home. Please express your thoughts and memories on the online guest book at jonesjonesbetts.com.
