Rudy Etzkorn, 87, died at his home in Monitor, on Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was born in Wenatchee to Oscar Bernard (O.B.) and Elizabeth Marguerite (Peggy) Etzkorn on November 2, 1926. He spent his early life working on his father’s ranch in Monitor and attending school in Wenatchee, graduating in 1944. After graduation, he entered the Army for a short time. He met and married Anne Etzkorn on June 25, 1948, at Wenatchee, setting up their home in Monitor, where he worked with his father on the orchard. He and his wife raised five children, enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the United States and later packed, shipped and sold their own fruit from the Monitor orchard.

Rudy is survived by two daughters, Katherine Brawley of East Wenatchee and Mary Telford of Monitor; two sons, Robert Etzkorn of Vancouver and Rick Etzkorn of Monitor; a sister, Marie Brockway of Seattle; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne; a son, Michael in 1952; a daughter, Linda in 1997; and his parents, Oscar and Elizabeth.

No Services will be held. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee.
