Arson suspect offers guilty plea

WENATCHEE — A Wenatchee man accused of setting the fire that scorched a Methow Street home in July 2013 pleaded guilty to first-degree arson Monday.

Robert E.J. Wheeler, 21, gave an Alford plea, acknowledging the evidence was strong enough to convict him of starting the fire at 504 Methow Street, but declining to admit responsibility.
