WENATCHEE — Wenatchee AppleSox starting pitcher Griffin Canning took the mound on Friday against the Walla Walla Sweets and pitched a gem.

The recent high school grad completed six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits while striking out 10. But his impressive effort wasn’t enough as the AppleSox lost another game to their divisional foe — this time 7-5.
