Helen Elizabeth Robinson

August 9, 1922 ~ June 10, 2014

Helen Elizabeth Robinson, 91, of Cashmere, WA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 10, 2014. Helen was born August 9, 1922, to Carolyn and Harry Joyce in Kearney, NJ. She was married to Art Robinson and together they had two daughters. They made their home in North Plainfield, NJ and later in Beacon Falls, CT. In 1977, they relocated to Cashmere, WA, to be close to their children and grandchildren. After moving to Cashmere, she started a day care, where she not only played a highly influential part in her grandsons’ lives, but in the lives of the many young children, who were in her care for years. After retiring her day care, she kept busy working in retail sales, community service, and volunteering. She was an active member of Cashmere’s Wakoka Kiwanis, Women’s Club, Lioness Club, and the Cashmere American Legion Auxiliary. She also volunteered at the Cashmere Museum and was cashier at the American Legion’s Saturday night Bingo for years. Until her passing, Helen lived an active life traveling with family, socializing with her dear friends, and spending as much time as possible with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Gladys “Bobbie” (Buck) Lewis and Carole (Bud) Newberry, all of Cashmere; five grandchildren, Holly (Marco) Dirks, Wendy Lewis, Dawn (Mark) Harper, Marshall (Sue) Newberry and Matthew (Olivia) Newberry; and five great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.

Memorial Service for Helen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church in Cashmere, WA.
