ChelanMan to push on despite weather, smoke

CHELAN — Temperatures of more than 110 degrees and nearly hazardous levels of smoke would normally be enough to stop any prospective athletic event in its tracks.

But the founding members of ChelanMan, an annual triathlon, are not the quitting type. Led by past Olympian Julie Pittsinger, the group of dedicated athletes founded the event in 2007 to give back to the community that helped get them their athletic acclaim.
