OKANOGAN COUNTY — Here’s a ray of hope for Cheney-bound students impacted by the recent wildfires.

Eastern Washington University is sending a team of financial aid counselors and outreach staff to Okanogan County in August to speak with students planning to attend EWU this fall.

In addition to advising potential students, Eastern has set up a $250,000 Student Hardship Fund to help incoming students with tuition and housing.

Counselors are able to award grants at the time of their visit. For more information, visit ewu.edu. Specific times and locations will be posted there as the date draws closer.

Donations can also be made to support the Hardship Fund at ewu.edu/hardshipfund.
