OROVILLE — A Tonasket teenager was recognized as Explorer of the Year in Washington state last month.

Abe Podkranic was nominated by the U.S. Border Patrol in Oroville, then selected by the Washington Law Enforcement Explorer Advisors Association and honored in a ceremony May 21.
