WENATCHEE — For the second game in as many days, catcher Taylor Johnson found himself with a chance to deliver the Wenatchee AppleSox an unlikely win. And for the second straight day, he came through.
Wednesday’s game at Paul Thomas Sr. Baseball Stadium looked like it would be a blowout as the home team led 9-1 through seven innings, but the visiting Kitsap BlueJackets scored eight runs in two frames to tie the game to force extra innings. A two-out Sox rally in the eleventh inning stymied the eye-popping comeback the BlueJackets mounted as Wenatchee won 13-12.
