Orondo woman stable after crash near Vantage

VANTAGE -- A 75-year-old Orondo woman was in stable condition Sunday afternoon at Spokane's Sacred Heart Hospital after her car was struck Saturday by a Freightliner semi truck.

Regina Lucero, driver of a Kia Spectra sedan, had stopped at a stop sign on northbound Highway 243 at Highway 26. She pulled onto Highway 26 and was struck by the eastbound Freigntliner driven by Volodymyr Isak, 41, of Kent, according to a State Patrol news release. The accident was reported at about 1:30 p.m. Isak was not injured.
