It’s a pleasure to hear from old friends.
Oliver Jeffords, now 96, writes from Olympia about his hopes for our country, as he keeps close watch on the news.
Oliver had a career as an agricultural engineer, his greatest achievement being a “land drainage revolution” by inventing a perforated drainage pipe system installed with a subsoil plow.
He still keeps studying engineering solutions to farm problems, he writes.
Oliver has two step-sisters living here, Bonnie Johnson and Barbara Knight.
