WENATCHEE — Snow flurries? Gusty winds? Chilly temps? Icy mountain passes? Heck, isn’t that why they call them the “Winter” Games?
A near-record number of athletes — nearly 1,600 total — braved a late-season storm front here this weekend to compete in the 2014 Special Olympics Washington Winter Games, the 24th year in a row for Wenatchee to host the statewide event.
