We have a stake in this partnership

It is a rare and remarkable example of cooperation, a community endeavor for the common good, a partnership composed of what are politely called “diverse interests.” The Stemilt Partnership, with farmers, sportsmen, irrigators, government, skiers, snowmobiliers, hikers, fishers, foresters, conservationists, was able to compile a common vision for public land in the gorgeous Upper Stemilt Basin, land they all cherished, and map out goals for its long-term protection. It was, it is, an effort years in the making. It would be in everyone’s best interest if they succeed, if at least some of that common vision was realized, not only to protect the Stemilt Basin for its watershed, habitat and recreation, but to encourage future cooperative efforts here and elsewhere.

Now, it appears success is possible, if not near.
