Ione Joy Springer

Peshastin, WA

Ione Joy Springer, 89, of Peshastin, WA, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014, in Leavenworth, WA. Ione was born in Leavenworth, WA to George and Dorothy Sauer. She graduated from Peshastin High School in 1944. She married “Chancy” Springer in 1946. She was a lifetime resident of Peshastin and member of the Peshastin United Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of Sew n’ Sew Quilters. She liked baking, especially cookies, and was known for her popcorn balls.

Survivors include son, Charles “Chip” Springer and granddaughters, Danielle and Ashley, all of Orlando, FL; son, Robert (Kathy) Springer of Peshastin; and brother, George Sauer of Omak, WA. She was preceded in death by husband, Charles M. Springer; and son, Donald Springer.

A special thank you to the caring staff at Mountain Meadows Assisted Living and Central Washington Hospice, who lovingly cared for lone.

A Memorial Service will be held on a future summer date. Memorials may be made to Peshastin United Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Ward’s Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, WA.
