WENATCHEE — Five residents of an assisted living home up Pitcher Canyon were displaced for a night after fire broke out in the chimney of the home.

The fire, reported at 6:08 p.m. Saturday at 1354 Pitcher Canyon Road, started in a fireplace and spread to an outside wall, said Capt. Russ Hamilton with Chelan County Fire District 1. When fire crews arrived, the home owner and an employee were placing residents in cars to keep them warm.
