SEATTLE — The National Weather Service says a series of Pacific storms is once again bringing rain to Washington through today — and with the rain comes an increased threat of mudslides and avalanches.

A mudslide in the Auburn area south of Seattle knocked a vacant rental house off its foundation. In the Cascades, Highway 2 across Stevens Pass was temporarily closed Wednesday by a snowslide followed by avalanche control.
