WENATCHEE — For the first time in a long while, the Wenatchee Wild looked the part of a young, inexperienced squad.

The Wild (28-21-6 overall) struggled to generate offense, played the majority of the first two periods in the defensive zone and suffered a 4-0 shutout Friday at the Town Toyota Center at the hands of their divisional rival, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs (41-13-1 overall).
