YAKIMA — The Okanogan boys basketball team lost its 1A Hardwood Classic semifinal contest to King’s on Friday in about the worst way imaginable.
The previously unbeaten Bulldogs’ state title hopes were dashed. They were devastated, of course. But the next day, they returned to the Yakima SunDome with a renewed sense of spirit, confidence and determination.
Those attributes helped them to a resounding 56-37 win over Seattle Academy to clinch third place.
