The 2014 Polar Plunge fundraiser for Special Olympics happened Saturday at Walla Walla Point Park.  Participants usually use the swimming area at the park and plunge into the Columbia River, but due to the river drawdown the area is very muddy, so the Wenatchee Fire Department stepped in to douse the group.  The event drew about 70 participants who raised a record setting amount of over $20,000.
