WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Wild suffered a sweep on its home ice, but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort.

One evening after getting shutout, the Wild (28-22-6 overall) put up the kind of fight you need to defeat an elite North American Hockey League team. But at the end of regulation, the point totals flowed the same way and Wenatchee fell 5-2 Saturday at the Town Toyota Center against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs (42-13-1 overall).
